I genuinely enjoyed reading the post “Lessons Learned-Class of 2016.” Thanks to the previous class, I have a much better shot at creating a strong magazine this semester. Each of the students taught me so much about planning, organizing, and editing. That being said, students one and two gave the best advice! I often forget that every element on the page should have a purpose, but student one reminded me that elements should create hierarchy and guide the reader. Student six shared a similar message and added that design is not simply about aesthetic. Rather, design contributes to the publication’s message. Still, student two gave my favorite piece of advice. He or she suggested printing multiple times throughout the semester. I now know not to wait until the last minute to print out my magazine.
