Field Notes Publico Photography

Like I said last week, one of the first things I noticed about photos for Publico was color. When they seems to have photos that have a strong red subject, or if they are black and white, the color of typography on the page is mainly red, and other times it’s kind of a free for all when it comes to colors.

Another pattern that I’ve seems is that they truly use a lot of photos with the subject directly in the middle, and sharply in focus with a blurred background. In a world where many photographers use the rule of thirds in their photography, a lot of Publico’s photo work place subjects mack dab in the middle of the shot.

Generally, Publico keeps it straightforward with rectangular shaped photos and don’t really have any images overlapping on each other, however cover images have heds and deks on them.
