After reading through the advice from past students, a few themes were fairly common amongst many of the classmates. For starters, many of the students suggested that we not wait until the very last minute to start an assignment. One student even mentioned the importance of completing field notes on the day they are assigned. I will definitely take that into consideration moving forward. In addition, they also emphasized the importance of sketching/drawing before getting on to the computer to design. Another important takeaway was to seek out advice from not only other students through critiques but from Professor Strong directly. Lastly, my favorite piece of advice was something along the lines of knowing how to use the software doesn’t mean you are a designer. I too agree with that, and look forward to further strengthening my true skills in design.
